Use this checklist to help you make sure you are ready to install and configure Portfolio.
License Administrator Be sure to have the Extensis account information (email address and password) for your Portfolio License Administrator. You need this information to activate Portfolio. See Licensing Portfolio. | |
Server hardware Make sure the system you will install Portfolio on meets the hardware and operating system requirements. See System requirements. | |
Prerequisite software Make sure your Portfolio system has the .NET 3.5 and 4.5 Frameworks (Windows) and the Adobe DNG Converter. | |
Portfolio Administration You can run Portfolio Administrator from any computer on your network that has a 1280×1024 display, 10 Mbit/s network connection, and one of these browsers: Microsoft Edge, Safari 7 or later, the latest release of Google Chrome, or the latest release of Firefox. | |
System account Make sure to install Portfolio using an account with the appropriate access permissions. See Server access. | |
Access to assets Make sure your Portfolio server system and the account you will install Portfolio under have read/write access to all the locations where you currently store your assets, or plan to in the future. If you plan to use Vault catalogs with Portfolio, make sure to have an internal drive (rather than an externally attached drive) with plenty of available space. | |
Firewall ports Make sure the correct ports are open in your host system’s firewall. See Ports. If these ports conflict with other software, you can choose new ports after installation. See Resolving port conflicts. | |
Active Directory If you intend to use Active Directory to map user accounts, gather the following information:

Single Sign-On You can use Single Sign-On if you run Portfolio on a Windows server and use Active Directory. You need the Service Principal Name and password. See Configuring Single Sign-on. | |
Email Notifications If you wish to set up Email Notifications for certain events in Portfolio, you need the following information:
