Introduction to Portfolio Administration

There are two ways to use the Portfolio Administration application: to set up Portfolio for your organization, and to configure catalogs for specific users.

The Portfolio Administrator is responsible for licensing and configuring all aspects of Portfolio, including adding users and creating catalogs.

A Catalog Administrator is a user (assigned by the Portfolio Administrator) who is responsible for fine-tuning a catalog and assigning other users to the catalog.

The Portfolio Administrator can also perform all the tasks of a Catalog Administrator in every catalog.

If you are the Portfolio Administrator, here are the main tasks you will need to perform:

  1. Install Portfolio

  2. License Portfolio

  3. Add users

  4. Create a catalog

For an overview of all Portfolio Administrator tasks, see Administration tasks.
