Importing and Exporting Metadata Field Values in Portfolio 4

Importing and Exporting Metadata Field Values in Portfolio 4

When migrating assets to a new Catalog or server, there is sometimes the need to manually export and import the metadata.

To Export and Import Fields in Portfolio 4:

1. In the Catalog containing the metadata, right-click on All Assets, select Export Field Values, and save the TXT file to a known location.

2. In the Catalog that's missing the metadata, right-click on All Assets, select Import Field Values, and select the file you exported in step 1.

NOTE: Microsoft Excel has been found to add extra quotation marks to metadata which can cause issues.

Please check the files file with Notepad or TextEdit and remove all quotation marks before reimporting the file.

You can do so with a Find/Replace with " in the Find field and the Replace field blank.
