Before you delete a Vault catalog, you may wish to export the assets and optionally their metadata.
These instructions assume you wish to export all assets; if not, you can create a gallery with the assets you want to export (or even just flag the desired assets) and export that gallery.
To export all assets from a catalog:
Log in to the Portfolio Web or Desktop client as a Catalog Administrator.
Select a catalog.
Right-click on the All Items organizer and choose Download Contents.
You can also right-click on the catalog’s folder (the top-level folder at the bottom of the Organizers panel).
When prompted to download, click OK.
The assets will be downloaded to a file named archive.zip in your Downloads folder.
To export metadata for all assets in a catalog, right-click on the All Items organizer and choose Export Field Values.
The metadata will be downloaded as a file named YYYY-MM-DD_hh-mm_Export.txt, where YYYY-MM-DD is the year, month, and date the file was exported, and hh-mm is the time.
The process above exports assets in a ZIP file without regard for any folder organization you may have imposed on them within the Vault catalog.
You can also export assets from the Vault catalog so that they retain their organization.
Right-click on the All Items organizer or the catalog folder and choose Copy/Move/Export Contents.
In the dialog, select Export.
Choose the Destination Folder, then click Export.
