Portfolio can send email notifications to users and administrators for certain activities and conditions.
To configure Portfolio to send email notifications:
Click Global Settings, then click Email Notifications.
Check Enable Email Notifications.
Enter the address and port for your SMTP (outgoing) mail server.
If your mail server requires a secure connection, select the Use SSL/TLS checkbox.
If your mail server requires authentication, select Use SMTP Authentication and enter your email address and password.
Typically, we would suggest that you use the email address of the Portfolio Administrator account, but your IT department may suggest a different set of credentials.
To confirm that your credentials work, click Test Connection.
In the Email From Address field, enter the email address that you want emails to appear to be from. This is typically the address that you want users to be able to reply to; if you don’t want replies, you could enter your organization’s “no reply” address or a non-existent address in your organization’s domain. (Be careful to not use an email address from another domain or one that might eventually be used in your organization’s domain.)
Click Apply to save your changes.
