Options for deleting assets vary depending on the type of catalog you are using (vault or Watch Folder) and what organizer you are viewing (All Assets, a built-in organizer, or a gallery).
When you delete assets from a vault catalog, they are also permanently deleted from the vault. If you need to retain vault assets, download the originals before you delete them from the catalog. See Downloading files.
Note: You cannot delete locked assets. Unlock them first. See Locking assets.
To delete all assets from a vault catalog, right-click on the All Assets organizer and choose Delete Contents from the shortcut menu.
In the dialog, check the box labeled Delete original files from the Vault and the Catalog, then click Delete.
To delete individual assets from a vault catalog, select the assets in a built-in organizer (All Assets, Flagged Assets, or Checked Out Assets), right-click one of the selected assets, and choose Delete Selection from the shortcut menu.
Check Delete original files from the Vault and the Catalog, then click Delete.
To delete individual assets from a gallery, click the gallery, select the assets, right-click within the selection and choose Delete Selection.
In the dialog, check Delete assets from <gallery> and Delete original files from the Vault and the Catalog, then click Delete.
If you want to retain the assets in the Vault and Catalog but just remove them from the gallery, do not check Delete original files from the Vault and Catalog.
To delete all assets in a gallery, right-click on the gallery and choose Delete Contents.
Check Delete assets from <gallery> and Delete original files from the Vault and Catalog, then click Delete.
This deletes the assets but does not remove the gallery.
When you delete assets from a Watch Folder catalog, you can optionally remove them from disk as well.
To delete all assets from a catalog, right-click on the All Assets organizer and choose Delete Contents from the shortcut menu.
To delete individual assets from the catalog, select the assets, right-click in the selection and choose Delete Selection from the shortcut menu.
To delete all assets in a gallery, right-click on the gallery and choose Delete Contents.
In the resulting dialog, check the boxes corresponding to what you want to remove:
If you only check Delete assets from <gallery> the assets will be removed from the gallery but not from the catalog (this option is only present if you are viewing assets in a gallery and not a built-in organizer).
If you also check Delete assets from catalog, the assets will be removed from the catalog but the files will remain on disk.
If you check Delete original files from disk, then the original files will be permanently deleted.
Click Delete to have Portfolio delete the assets.
